Meet Dr. Piemontesi

Dr. Piemontesi is a board-certified specialist practicing full-scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He was born in South Africa and grew up in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He attended the University of Saskatchewan, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Physiology, and then completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of British Columbia. Dr. Piemontesi subsequently completed his training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, where he also earned a Doctor of Medicine and completed a one-year general surgery internship. Dr. Piemontesi joined Island Oral Facial and Implant Surgery in 2018.  

His professional interests within Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery include third molar surgery, dental implants, digital and virtual surgical planning, orthognathic surgery, and maxillofacial pathology, trauma, and reconstruction.

Dr. Piemontesi is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and an active member of the Canadian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the British Columbia Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the British Columbia Dental Association.

Outside of the profession, he enjoys running, playing tennis, cheering on the Canucks and Nashville Predators, and spending time with his wife Erin and their two children
