Island Oral Facial and Implant Surgery is pleased to announce the gradual reopening of our clinic to essential and non-essential services starting Tuesday, May 19th. As we have controlled the spread of COVID-19 and continue to flatten the curve in British Columbia, the risk for community transmission is now deemed low. We believe it as This protocol is in keeping with the recommendations of the College of Dental Surgeons of BC, Provincial Health Officer, Ministry of Health and Island Health Authority.
At Island Oral Facial and Implant Surgery, we pride ourselves on being an integral part of our community. We feel it necessary to go above and beyond and are taking extraordinary measures to protect the health of our patients and employees. In keeping with this commitment to our community, we will be taking the following measures of precaution to provide a safe environment for our patients and team members:
- Enhanced patient screening both on the phone and upon entering our facilities
- Providing over the phone consultation if indicated
- Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing and we have organized our waiting areas for less crowding in the reception area
- Installed plexi-glass barriers in our reception areas
- Increased infectious control measures including, but not limited to:
- Increased frequency of cleaning, hand washing, and sanitization
- You will find hand sanitizer located when you first arrive in the office and at various locations throughout the office
- We will ask that you use our hand sanitizer on entry and exiting the building and as needed during your visit
- For those without a mask, they will be provided with one upon entry
- Updated our surgical suites with negative air pressure ventilation, similar to that of a hospital operating room
- Medical grade air purifiers in the lobby and surgical areas
- Wearing PPE during surgical procedures and implementing new infectious disease control protocol
Island Oral Facial and Implant Surgery is confident that we have the protocols in place to ensure our team members and patients are safe. We are monitoring the situation daily and updating our protocol to current guidelines from CDSBC, BCCDC, WorkSafeBC and the Office of the Provincial Health Officer.
To ensure your health and safety and that of everyone at our practice, please reschedule your appointment if you or a member of your household has symptoms of COVID-19, been exposed to someone diagnosed positive or have traveled in the last 2 weeks.
